The Norlander Automatic Bobbin is the ideal companion to the
Nor-Vise rotary fly tying vise. This unique bobbin can also speed
production with stationary vises as well.
The Norlander Automatic Bobbin is precisionmanufactured with a
spring-loaded aluminum hub designed to automatically rewind the
tying thread and hang suspended from the hook - exactly where
you want it - when released. It comes fitted with an aluminum
spool and pre-loaded plastic spools are available. Either style
spool snaps over the bobbin's hub and is held in position with
a simple '0' ring.
· Spools are easily reloaded with an electric drill by
clamping on the arbor.
· The bobbin handles more than 100 yards of conventional
3/0 to 8/0 tying thread and can be used with floss, mylar, tinsel
etc.
· For working up close to tiny flies, the Norlander Automatic
Bobbin is fitted with a small diameter stainless steel "midge"
tube.
· The auto retraction mechanism will rewind up to 20 inches
of thread. To cut off, simply pull the bobbin out a few inches
past the limit and the spring clutch will slip, leaving you with
an end of thread to start your next fly. With practice, you'll
rarely lose the thread.
Thread tension is controlled by the autorewind mechanism; it can be varied by squeezing with the fingers and the palm of the hand holding the bobbin.
