Amherst Pheasants are very colorful birds that contain red, yellow, white, black metallic, and green metallic body feathers. The neck feathers, or tippets, are marked in metallic black on pure white. These feathers are widely used on salmon, trout, bass flies, and cork bugs.

Silver Pheasants
These birds are sometimes called Zebra Pheasants. They have white and black barred plumage over their entire body and wings. The wings and body plumage are used for bass, salmon, panfish, and trout fly wings, and as cheeks for streamers.

Reeves Pheasant
Body feathers are buff with a black edge. Side feathers have a white center with a few wide black bars. The white is encircled by black, and the edge is a rich brown. On the wing, the shoulder feathers range from white with black bars and edge to buff and black. Wing quills are greyish brown mottled and barred with buff and brown. Extra select; no tail.

Ringneck Cock Pheasants
Every feather on these skins is used for tying flies. The cream and light brown to light dun wings are used for trout fly wings, both wet and dry. The chumh window back feathers are used for bug wings and spent wings. The green-grey rump feathers are used for quill bodies and for wet fly hackle. The deep metallic red and wine body feathers are used for natural color wet fly hackle, The tails are used for fly and streamer wings and tails for mayflies. They also make excellent wing cases for nymphs, nymph fibers, and quill bodies. The long fibers at the base of the tail are used to make legs on Daddy Long Legs flies and on large spider flies. A single fiber is used for a leg, and silk thread is knotted on the fiber to form the leg joint. The herl from the centertails makes excellent bodies for dry and wet flies and nymphs.

Golden Pheasants
The crests are brilliant yellow. The neck feathers (tippets) are orange and black barred. The three most plentiful colors of body feethers are bright red, yellowish-orange, and metallic green. The wings have mottled rust and brown and plain rust shoulder feathers and secondaries and dun colored primaries.
