The Ketchum Release offers two significant benefits: it saves fish and it saves flies. The Ketchum Release effectively removes a flv hook without netting or handling the fish. The elimination of fish handling increases the survival rate of released fish. In addition, the Ketchum Release will not damage flies like traditional clamping devices can. By saving flies, the tool can pay for itself in just a few fishing sessions.
There are three sizes available, covering the entire range of flies from the smallest dries to large bodied streamers:

The Saltwater Ketchum Release
The Saltwater version of the Ketchum Release saves fish, saves flies and saves fingers! It works on the same principles as the freshwater version, but with modifications to serve the specific needs of saltwater flytishing. The tool is made from hard anodized aluminum to survive against the strongest forces.
The saltwater version is available in three head sizes (5/16" diameter, 1/2" diameter and 3/4" diameter) and three shaft lengths (6", 10" and 36"). The heads and shafts are sold separately, to allow an angler to custom build the configuration that fits their fishing. For example, flats fishing for bonefish is best served by the smallest head and handle. Fishing for toothy fish require the 10" handle to keep fingers at a good distance. The longest handle allows for reach over the side of a boat. All head sizes can be easily attached to all handle sizes.
· The Saltwater Ketchum Release will be sold on a modular basis, to fit any type of saltwater fishing. The heads and shafts are purchased separately, and combine to fit each buyer's needs. For example:
