One of the most critical and yet least-understood
accessories for tarpon anglers is a good line or leader stretcher. The absolute
best we had ever seen was designed by Titusville, Florida shop owner Frank
Steele. With his blessings, we adopted and slightly modified his concept.
Constructed of aluminum and oak and covered by 1,000 denier Cordura Nylon
the stretcher will keep 18 flies and leaders from 40-pound to 100-pound
test straight as an arrow and ready to rumble. Two outside accessory pockets
will hold extra spools of leader material, flies and rigging tools. An 18-1/2
inch clear plastic tube will store additional shock tippets
