Welcome to the new world of fly fishing with a computer and a modem. Besides the web pages, Fly Fishing Network maintains a server. The FFN server, is better suited than the web interface for conferencing at this time.The network is accessible on Windows, Mac and DOS interface.
The FLY FISHING NETWORK either on the web pages or server, has everything involved in the sport on line. Some of it will be as a normal fishing magazine. Departments such as conservation, fly tying, books, collecting, casting, travel, videos, etc. Articles. Classifieds.
What the Network brings to fly fishing is interaction, timeliness, and database queries to Pattern Library and Product Review.
If you want to know the reputation of shop, guide or lodge? How to tie a certain style pattern? Experience with a certain piece of equipment. Just get on line and ask. One thing that fly fisherman aren't lacking is opinions. You're liable to get many more answers than you bargained for.
How's the fishing and conditions on the West Fork or the East Branch? There will be many fishing conditions throughout the country being listed. Not only trout conditions, but saltwater, small mouth, steelhead, Atlantic salmon, etc.
When you place or follow up on a classified ad, it's current. Not 2-3 months old as it normally takes with printed publications.
Catalogs of all sorts are on line. Price lists. Special hard to find items or sizes.
A special section called page listings gives information and access for many services that don't need a full catalog listing. Custom bamboo and graphite rod makers. Guides, lodges, motels, restaurants. Fly tyers, both commercial and presentation dressers. Fly shops, listed by state, town and zip code, so if you're making a trip you can find the nearest "hot" fly.

Read-Write Limited Membership: NO CHARGE.
Anyone can utilize the FFN server on a read, write-no charge basis. No need to auto register, just used the ID: ffn guest and PW: ffn guest or ID: guest and PW: guest.

Annual Commercial Membership: $100. per year. Allows full listing of products and services. There is a separate access section of the Network, available only to commercial members. The present criteria for commercial membership is 40% of your income should come from the fly fishing industry. Registration as above. Full time guides, flytyers and rod-builders may qualify for special Commercail Membership pricing-inqure.

FFN is a FirstClass Server at ffn.mhv.net, IP flyfishingnetwork.com, TCP port 3000. You must download both the FirstClass Client and the FFN settings for your operating system. To connect you must place FFN's settings file into the Settings Folder, in with FirstClass Client.

All Fly fishing Network members are automatically members of the FFNBuyersClub or FlyBuy for briefness. FlyBuy can obtain most fly fishing products, which, if obtainable, Members net price will be at least 20% from list.

Factory Authorized Items. Due to the nature of the fly fishing industry, we are not allowed to advertise, list or sell any Factory Authorized Item(s) if it isn't at list price. Any item that falls in this catagory will be noted. List price must be charged. Fly Buy Members will be entittled to premium points or items (i.e. lines, FFA's or anything listed, not noted as authorized dealership) worth at least 20% of the noted authorized dealers items.
To make a purchase from the FFBuyersClub's listings:
In the Order Form list item(s), sizes, color, etc. If your credit card information isn't on file, forward card number and expiration date. Confirmation and shipping will be placed in your Mailbox and/or e-mailed within 2 business days of the order. Shipment will be to members listed address.
For check or Money Order purchase order information should be included with check/MO and mailed to Fly Fishing Network, P.O. Box C, Amawalk, NY 10501.
Purchasing Policy:
All sales are final. Please be sure of your wants, sizing, etc.
Exchange is available only on merchandise damaged in shipment. Should this occur, advise with message to admin. and we will forward return instructions.
Credit card purchases will be applied to card upon shipping. Special orders card purchases may be charged to cardholder upon placement of the order.
Shipping is UPS surface unless otherwise specified. One and 2 day Air, along with 3 day select is available upon request. The shipping charge is the actual charge plus $3. packing and handling.

No Minimium FlyBuy order.

Orders under 70. that can be sent 1st Class, U.S. Postal in up to an envelope 12" x 15.5" will be charged a 1. handling charge. There is no insurance on 1st Class mail.
Orders under 70. that must be boxed will be charged a 5. handling charge.
Orders over 70. are charged a 3. handling charge.

FlyBuy orders under 70. may by up to 2 weeks to shipping.

All NYS orders must include the correct sales tax.
Note that copy is supplied by manufacturer or distributer.

FlyBuy reserves the right to correct prices. With constant pricing increases and the listings changes, mistakes will occur.

Classifieds Buying

Classified ad placement is available to all members. FFN handles these transactions as an unpaid service to the membership. To purchase an item, forward negotiable instument or a credit card number. 3-7 day inspection is the normal. Should a credit card be used, a 3.5% service charge will be added to the purchase price, as this is the net charge from the card service company. Purcahser is liable for all shipping costs. To facilitate purchases and eliminate the 3.5% charge, you may use the credit card to allow immediate shipping and follow it up with a bank check or money order.
