The most common flies in Iceland range from size 6 to 12, though salmon are caught on even smaller flies. Rifle hitching may be done with a standard fly, or with a specialized small plastic tube. The most popular flies are : Frances Black, Frances Red, Nora, Blue Charm, Collie Dog, Hairy Mary, Black Sheep.   Many other flies are successful, and most common patterns are available at the lodge.
